Heat Rises

Sometimes, we forget the simplest principles. The designers of Las Casas Verdes use slightly more sophisticated strategies like the stack effect to induce airflow. When warm air rises and leaks out at the top of a building, cooler air is drawn in at the bottom. Each home in the neighborhood incorporates a heat chimney to implement the stack effect, harnessing the sun to heat air and create a convection current to keep the residents cooler.

More information about these homes is available at www.lascasasverdes.com.
